14 stycznia 2018 roku na basenie ,,Wodnik’’ w Żarach odbyły się pływackie zawody ,,Owsiakowskie’’, które honorowym patronatem objął Starosta Żarski Janusz Dudojć.

Niedzielne zawody były jednymi z wielu wydarzeń sportowych, zorganizowanych w całym kraju, w ramach 26 Finału Wielkiej Orkiestry Świątecznej Pomocy. Na żarskiej pływalni zjawiło się ponad 80 miłośników sportu, którzy wystartowali w wodnych potyczkach. Podsumowaniem sportowych zmagań było wręczenie upominków i pamiątkowych medali.
